The Icon Makers' Favorite Icons Meme! As icon makers we get a lot of feedback from users about which icons they like or which icons are their favorites. However, we rarely have an opportunity to go through our own work and show people which are our favorites.

Hello! I made a post a few years ago about my Harry Potter autographs. One of my hobbies is writing to celebrities and getting autographs. I have amassed a nice collection of autographs from actors in the Harry Potter movies. Up until yesterday I had received (all authentic unless stated "Preprinted"):
Jason Isaacs (Lucius Malfoy) Matthew Lewis (Neville Longbottom) Evanna Lynch (Luna Lovegood) Clémence Poésy (Fleur Delacour) Preprinted Daniel Radcliffe (Harry Potter) Dame Maggie Smith (Minerva McGonagall) Emma Thompson (Sybil Trelawney) Preprinted Emma Watson (Hermione Granger) Jamie Waylett (Vincent Crabbe) Bonnie Wright (Ginny Weasley)
I am still waiting on quite a few more, but yesterday I got the Harry Potter autograph to end all Harry Potter autographs!
( You can probably figure out who it is, but I'm lj-cutting it anyway )
I'm so excited that I just have to share with as many people as possible, and I figured the people of this community would appreciate it :) If you are interested in seeing any other of my Harry Potter autographs, I would be happy to upload them. Just let me know.

| Fanfic ahoy! |
[15 Dec 2009|02:14am] |
With the holidays upon us, I'm figuring that lots of us have WAY too much time on our hands, and that's where we might find ourselves wandering over to the fanfic realm to get our kicks ;)
So let's have ourselves a bit of a
Fanfic dicussion post
Always wanted to gush about your favourite fic? Post a critique of a fic you have just read (play nice, though, children) ... Ever wanted to ask others where you can find some kick-ass Marauders fic? Oh, what about that totally non-canon ship that you can't get enough of in fanfic land? Know a really FUNNY fic that you just have to share? ( If it's to do with fanfic then come on in, grab a cuppa, and get comfy :) )

| ''I wish I were dead...'' - The Cry of Alan Rickman's Snape |
[14 Dec 2009|04:26am] |
Cross posted @ http://community.livejournal.com/alanrickman/985725.html#cutid1
WARNING: This entry may contain a bit of Deathly Hallows spoilers for The Prince's Tale so if you have not read the final book of the Harry Potter series, please proceed with caution.
Out of the entire much anticipated Deathly Hallows, the scene I am probably most eager to see is The Prince's Tale, however, it is only a matter of whether or not WB or David Yates in that respect will let Alan Rickman do his stuff, especially in one of the most treacherous scenes where we probably see for the first time of Snape's real torment:
The hilltop faded, and Harry stood in Dumbledore’s office, and something was making a terrible sound, like a wounded animal. Snape was slumped forward in a chair and Dumbledore was standing over him, looking grim. After a moment or two, Snape raised his face, and he looked like a man who had lived a hundred years of misery since leaving the wild hilltop...''I wish...I wish I were dead...'' (DH, pgs. 357-358. PDF format.)
The two most important aspects of this scene is that Snape is supposed to be ''making a terrible sound, like a wounded animal'' whilst his face is supposed to give off the impression of ''a man who had lived a hundred years of misery'' hence Rickman's older age compared to Snape's.

| Half-Blood Prince Question |
[13 Dec 2009|09:44pm] |
After the release of the Half-Blood Prince movie, I had hoped that I would settle down this winter and re-read the entire series. In the mean time, I got into graduate school, and now my every waking hour is spent reading history books and writing papers. Except tonight, during which I allowed myself to crack into my new Half-Blood Prince Blu-ray. I just finished watching and have a few questions that arose when trying to remember what happened in the book versus what they showed in the film.
Keeping in mind that I have not read the books in quite some time...( Questions below... )
Thanks!
